Professor Sam Wass is a child psychologist
& neuroscientist who is an expert in child concentration and child stress.

He leads a research unit, the BabyDevLab, which is funded by the European Research Council, Research Councils UK and others, based at the University of East London.

East London is one of most demographically and socioeconomically diverse areas of the world, and a major focus of his research is on understanding how different early life environments and different early inter-personal interaction styles influence the development of concentration and stress during infancy and early childhood.

In addition, Sam is active in the public communication of science.
He appears as a press spokesperson for public organisations including the Department of Education and Public Health England, and for commercial organisations including Lego, Disney+ and many others.

Sam is also co-founder of Nest Kids which runs training for practitioners working in Early Years.
